Taipei: Sporadic scattered showers are forecasted for northern and eastern Taiwan on Thursday due to a nearby weather front increasing humidity, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA). Northern Taiwan will experience scattered showers throughout the day, while eastern Taiwan and mountainous areas in central and southern Taiwan may see occasional scattered showers in the afternoon. Apart from these areas, cloudy skies will prevail over most of Taiwan.
According to Focus Taiwan, temperatures are predicted to rise during the day, reaching highs of 27-31 degrees Celsius across the country, except in the south where temperatures may soar up to 33 degrees. Nighttime lows are expected to drop to around 21-23 degrees.
Meanwhile, Wu Der-rong, an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at National Central University, indicated that the weather will transition to cloudy to sunny over the weekend, with a possibility of afternoon showers or thundershowers. He also mentioned t
hat the first plum rain front might arrive next Tuesday, potentially bringing showers or thundershowers to Taiwan.
