Saint kitts and nevis: Saint Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Terrance Drew expressed his deep appreciation for Taiwan’s achievements in multiple areas upon his arrival in Taipei. Drew stated that these achievements can serve as a model for his country.
According to Focus Taiwan, this visit marks Drew’s third trip to Taiwan since taking office in 2022. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with President Lai Ching-te and witness the establishment of sister city relationships between Basseterre, the capital of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and the Taiwan cities of Taipei and Tainan, as confirmed by Taiwan’s foreign ministry.
Drew remarked that his previous visits to Taiwan left him with a profound appreciation for Taiwan’s accomplishments in technology, innovation, science, and education. He reiterated these sentiments upon his arrival at Taoyuan International Airport, where he was welcomed by Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung.
Drew emphasized that each engagement with Taiwan provides Saint Kitts and Nevis with opportunities for learning, growth, and exploring new avenues for development. He affirmed his country’s steadfast support for Taiwan in gaining recognition and inclusion in the international community for its contributions to global peace, development, and innovation.
The visiting delegation from Saint Kitts and Nevis includes Prime Minister Drew’s wife, Diani Prince-Drew, the country’s Foreign Minister Denzil Douglas, Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office Naeemah Hazelle, and Ambassador-at-large Leon Natta-Nelson. The delegation’s five-day agenda includes formal meetings with Foreign Minister Lin and President Lai.
