Nagoya:Taichung Taiwanese carrier Starlux Airlines has announced the launch of a new route, providing regular flights between Taichung in central Taiwan and Nagoya, a major transportation hub in Japan.
According to Focus Taiwan, the airline will initially operate four flights between the two cities in the last week of October, with plans to expand to a daily service by November.
Nagoya, the largest city in Japan's Chubu region, is noted for its strategic importance as a transportation hub. Wang Yun-hsiang, head of Starlux's Japan branch, highlighted during the launch ceremony at Chubu Centrair International Airport that Nagoya's many historical and cultural attractions serve as a gateway to popular destinations like Hida-Takayama, Shirakawa-go, Kamikochi, and Kanazawa.
With the introduction of the Nagoya route, the total number of Starlux's weekly flights from Taichung is set to increase to 66 starting in November.
