Taipei: Taiwan's Starlux Airlines has cancelled several flights between Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on Sunday and Monday due to Tropical Storm Tapah, the carrier said Sunday. In a statement, Starlux said it had cancelled flights JX205/206 between Taipei and Macau and JX331/332 between Taichung and Macau on Sunday due to the expected impact of the storm.
According to Focus Taiwan, the carrier has also cancelled flights JX201/202 between Taipei and Macau and JX233/234 between Taipei and Hong Kong on Monday. Tropical Storm Tapah formed late Saturday in the South China Sea west of the Philippines.
As of early Sunday, the storm was about 440 kilometers south of Hong Kong and was moving in a northwesterly direction. It is not expected to have any direct impact on Taiwan, according to the Central Weather Administration.
