Taipei: Retired Taiwanese badminton ace Tai Tzu-ying expressed her intention to share her experience with the next generation of players after taking some time for rest. According to Focus Taiwan, Tai mentioned at a promotional event that she hopes to mentor young players in the future. Her aim is to provide grassroots and elementary school players with insights into badminton, offering them new perspectives and helping them develop their training and competition strategies before entering junior high school. Tai, however, emphasized that these mentoring plans would commence only after she has had enough rest. She humorously noted that there is no specific timeline for when she will begin this new chapter in her life. The 32-year-old officially retired in November 2025, concluding a remarkable career spanning over 16 years. Tai Tzu-ying is celebrated as Taiwan's most successful badminton player. Her final season was marred by a knee injury, yet she competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she was elimina ted in the group stage. Her career concluded at the Taipei Open in September 2025. Since her retirement, Tai has been focusing on family life and travel. She has spent more time with her family, including her sister's children, and embarked on numerous trips, including a recent visit to New Zealand. This change of pace has allowed her to explore the world in ways she couldn't during her active sports career.
