Tainan Promotes Local Products at UK Food Exhibition, Signs MOU with UK Importer


Tainan: Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che participated in the International Food and Drink Event (IFE) in London, showcasing products from his city. The three-day event began on Monday, with Mayor Huang highlighting the dedication of Tainan producers to food safety and international standards to establish a presence in the global market.



According to Focus Taiwan, a group of six companies from Tainan presented their products at the Tainan Pavilion. These companies offer a variety of products, including processed fish items, fruits, juices, dried fruits, buckwheat-related foods, tea, and snacks. At the pavilion’s opening, Tainan’s fish and food processors signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with UK importer Cherrain Global, which specializes in logistics and distribution.



Cherrain Global’s distribution network targets midscale to upscale supermarkets and restaurants across the UK. Kris Tang, CEO of Cherrain Global, expressed his company’s keen interest in introducing quality food items from Taiwan. He emphasized the importance of recognizing the uniqueness of each brand and selecting the best distribution strategies for the UK market.



The IFE event hosted approximately 1,500 exhibitors this year, anticipating around 25,000 potential buyers and food product professionals from 90 countries and regions.
