Taiwan was named the third best place to live for expatriates in 2022, according to a survey conducted by global networking site InterNations, which cited the country’s safety and financial stability.

In the 2022 Expat Insider survey, 98 percent of the respondents agreed that they generally felt safe in Taiwan, the highest in the world and topping the average 81 percent worldwide.

According to the survey, which covered 11,970 expatriates from 177 countries worldwide, Taiwan ranked the second best in the Quality of Life Index among the 52 countries covered by the poll.

The survey found that 100 percent of the respondents agreed healthcare was affordable in Taiwan, compared with a global average of 61 percent, while 98 percent of them thought healthcare was widely available, versus 73 percent worldwide.

Taiwan took the sixth place for the Ease of Settling index, and grasped the eighth place for Personal Finance index, the survey showed. The poll indicated about 70 percent of the respondents were satisfied with their financial situation, compared with a global average of 60 percent.
