Taipei: Taiwan shares ended up 238.24 points, or 0.88 percent, at 27,301.9 Thursday on turnover of NT$564.33 billion (US$18.49 billion).

According to Focus Taiwan, the market saw a positive performance with a significant rise in share points. The trading turnover reached NT$564.33 billion, which translates to approximately US$18.49 billion.
