Taipei: Taiwan will see sunny and stable weather from Thursday through Monday, with daytime highs of 29-31 degrees Celsius and brief, isolated afternoon showers in mountainous areas, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said Wednesday. CWA forecaster Huang En-hung highlighted that southerly to southwesterly winds will dominate, bringing mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies nationwide during this period.
According to Focus Taiwan, isolated afternoon showers are expected in mountainous areas, with a slight increase in moisture on Saturday that could lead to brief, scattered showers north of Taoyuan and in Yilan County. Looking ahead, a frontal system is anticipated to approach waters north of Taiwan on April 14, with the front passing through on April 15, accompanied by a slight strengthening of the northeasterly monsoon.
Huang indicated that northern Taiwan and Yilan may experience localized showers during this time, while other regions will continue to enjoy partly cloudy to sunny skies. Another front is forecast to arrive on April 16, potentially bringing more scattered showers to northern and northeastern Taiwan. Daytime highs are expected to remain between 29 and 31 degrees from Thursday to Monday, although some areas may see slightly higher temperatures.
Overnight lows will vary between 21 degrees and 23 degrees, creating noticeable day-night temperature differences. Starting April 14, daytime highs in northern and northeastern Taiwan are projected to decrease to 27-29 degrees due to rainfall, while lows in other areas will remain largely unchanged. Huang also cautioned that low clouds or localized fog might impact visibility in western Taiwan early Thursday morning and in outlying Kinmen County over the next three days.
