Taiwan Triumphs with Six Medals at World University Games

Rhine-ruhr: Taiwan’s athletes delivered a strong performance on the penultimate day of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, securing two gold, three silver, and one bronze in various competitions.

According to Focus Taiwan, the highlight of the day was Taiwan’s success in badminton, where Ting Yen-chen clinched gold in the men’s singles final by defeating France’s Enogat Roy in straight games, 15-8, 15-5. In the mixed doubles, Wu Hsuan-yi and Yang Chu-yun claimed another gold for Taiwan after overcoming fellow Taiwanese players Chen Cheng-kuan and Hsu Yin-hui, who settled for silver.

Taiwan’s second silver medal in badminton was achieved in the women’s doubles, with Sung Yu-hsuan and Jheng Yu-chieh losing to China’s Li Qian and Wang Yiduo. Additionally, Lin Yu-chieh and Jheng Yu-chieh secured a bronze in mixed doubles after falling in the semifinals.

m final. Paulsson, also known by her Taiwanese name Chen Jui-an, scored a total of 13.266, with 5.000 in difficulty and 8.266 in execution. She was bested by Japan’s Ashikawa Urara, who achieved gold with a score of 14.166.

This marked the second consecutive day Paulsson reached the podium, having previously won bronze in the women’s individual all-around. In the floor exercise final, Paulsson initially led with a score of 13.000 but ultimately finished fourth after competitors from Belgium and Japan surpassed her score.
