Nagoya:Taiwan: The Taiwan men's archery team narrowly defeated South Korea 234-233 to win a bronze medal in a close competition, while the esports team also secured a bronze at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Wednesday. According to Focus Taiwan, 22-year-old Chang Cheng-wei was outstanding in the compound men's team bronze medal match, hitting perfect 10s with all eight of his arrows. Taiwan finished just six points shy of the maximum score of 240. Chang expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating that his role as the first archer was to set the stage for his teammates, which he felt he accomplished. This bronze marks the first medal for Taiwan's national archery team at the Asian Games. Meanwhile, the Taiwanese esports team earned a bronze medal after a 2-0 loss to China in the semifinals of the survival horror video game "Identity V" at the 2026 Asian Games. The team consists of Cheng Kai-sheng, Chen Kuang-yeh, Chu Tang-yao, Tang Sheng-chun, Cheng Chu-ming, Chuang Po-chun, and Su Bin-ch eng. The squad has previously won two bronze medals at the Asian Games. In a post-game interview, Chang Chu-ming, with tears in his eyes, expressed that he felt he had let the team down in the semifinals but was grateful for the collective effort, which led to achieving their goal of securing a medal. As of Wednesday evening, Team Taiwan, competing under the name Chinese Taipei, ranked 14th in the overall standings with a total of 39 medals, including three golds and 10 silvers.
