Taiwanese Doubles Teams Secure Silver at BWF Arctic Open Finals

Vantaa:Taiwanese men's and women's doubles teams earned silver medals after competing in the finals of the 2026 Arctic Open, a Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super 500 tournament held in Vantaa, Finland.

According to Focus Taiwan, the women's doubles team, consisting of world No. 8 pair Hsu Yin-hui and Lin Jhih-yun, faced a closely fought match against China's Chen Fan Shutian and Luo Xumin, ultimately losing 21-18, 21-19. Hsu and Lin noted that their opponents' style kept them defensively positioned, preventing a breakthrough in the final stages of each game.

Hsu and Lin acknowledged that this loss marked their third finals defeat in a BWF Super 500 tournament since forming their partnership in 2023, expressing optimism with a light-hearted remark that "maybe the fourth time's a charm."

In the men's doubles final, Taiwan's Lai Po-yu and Tsai Fu-cheng, both 20 years old, were narrowly defeated by Malaysia's Aaron Tai and Yap Roy King, with a score of 21-19, 21-19.
