Nagoya:Taiwan's Fu Chao-hsuan clinched the gold medal in the men's high jump at the Asian Games on Sunday, breaking a 60-year drought for Taiwanese men's athletics titles at the event.

According to Focus Taiwan, the 23-year-old athlete achieved a height of 2.25 meters in the final, equaling his season best. This victory contributed to Taiwan's tally, marking their third gold medal at the Asian Games.

Fu's achievement is significant as it is Taiwan's first medal in the men's high jump at the Asian Games since Liao Hsueh-sung secured a bronze in 1990. Additionally, this gold is the first for Taiwan in a men's athletics event at the Games since Wu Ah-min's decathlon win in 1966.
