Nagoya:Taiwan Olympic champion Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan claimed her second consecutive Asian Games boxing gold medal by defeating her Chinese opponent in the women's 60-kilogram final. According to Focus Taiwan, Lin triumphed over Yang Chengyu with a unanimous 5-0 decision at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. This victory adds the 60 kg title to her previous 57 kg gold from the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou. This achievement marks Taiwan's fourth gold medal at this year's Asian Games and Lin's first international title since transitioning to the 60 kg weight class after her gold-medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Earlier in the year, Lin earned a bronze medal at the Asian Boxing Elite Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and a silver medal at the World Boxing Cup in Guiyang, China, in June. During the Guiyang event, Lin overcame former world champion Yang with a 4-1 split decision in the semifinals. Despite being narrowly defeated by Viktoriya Grafeyeva of Kazakhstan 3-2 in the Guiyang final, Lin ave nged this loss in the Asian Games' first round, securing a 3-2 victory over the Kazakh competitor.
