Touch Taiwan exhibition to open in late April as scheduled

Touch Taiwan, the leading annual display exhibition in the country, will open in Taipei in late April as scheduled, despite a spike in domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases in the country.

Among the exhibitors at the annual trade show, AU Optronics Corp. (AUO) and Innolux Corp., the two largest flat-panel suppliers in Taiwan, will showcase their advanced technology developments.

This year, Touch Taiwan will be held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center during April 27-29 with the theme “Futures on Cross Industry Integration,” placing an emphasis on smart displays and solutions, smart manufacturing, advanced equipment, industrial materials, start-ups, and circular economy, according to the organizers.

Its virtual exhibition will be held from April 27-May 3, the organizers said.

AUO’s next-generation Micro LED

In a statement released Monday, AUO said it would demonstrate the next-generation Micro LED (light-emitting diode) and adaptive mini LED (AmLED) for gaming and automotive applications, as well as energy conservation and carbon reduction solutions for a circular economy and display-based solutions for medical and entertainment verticals.

“AUO teams up with ecosystem partner, Renovatio Pictures and Brogent Technologies Inc., to overturn the video production process in the film and television (F&T) industry and build a brand-new immersive entertainment experience,” the flat-screen provider said.

In the future, AUO intends to introduce a smart virtual studio to Taiwan’s large exhibition venues and schools, in an attempt to accelerate Taiwan’s F&T industry upgrade and transformation and to strengthen Taiwan’s digital content value chain, the company said.

Innolux to display advanced technologies

Innolux said in a separate statement that it would showcase four advanced technologies — InnoLED (innovation LED), multi-user N3D (natural 3D), PolarBlack LCD, and mini LED — in its range of applications and smart solutions that will be demonstrated at the exhibition.

As for its InnoLED technology, Innolux said it would present the bezel-less Supreme Gaming LCD, which utilizes a super-high contrast ratio made possible by the InnoLED technology to achieve a wide color gamut, and also features low power consumption, low blue light, and a super-thin design.

Innolux said its proprietary industry-leading N3D technology was built around light-field display technology, which minimizes the discomfort from prolonged use.

Innolux added its N3D technology was utilized in the 31.5-inch Multi-User N3D display for multiple viewers and the 15.6-inch 4K N3D notebook display for single users.
