Taoyuan: A tour bus and a military minibus collided on a section of National Freeway 1 in Taoyuan on Monday, resulting in injuries to 11 people, according to firefighters. The accident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on the southbound lanes of the Yangmei Elevated Section of the freeway in Taoyuan's Guishan District, the city's fire department said. According to Focus Taiwan, when first responders rushed to the scene, they found the driver of the military minibus trapped inside the vehicle, and they immediately set about freeing him. They also determined that two people needed immediate medical attention, four others were moderately injured, and five had sustained minor injuries. The cause of the accident could not yet be determined and remained under investigation, the fire department said Monday morning.
