Taipei: U.S. Senior Official for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Casey Mace is visiting Taiwan from Monday to Tuesday to support Taiwan’s international participation, according to the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT). During his visit, Mace aims to strengthen U.S.-Taiwan economic cooperation and advocate for Taiwan’s role in the international community.
According to Focus Taiwan, Mace, who leads the Office of Economic Policy in the State Department’s Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, will engage with Taiwan’s senior officials and industry leaders. The meetings will cover topics related to APEC, with an emphasis on supply chain resilience, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy.
Mace has served as a career diplomat at the U.S. Department of State for over 23 years, focusing on Indo-Pacific relations. He has been in his current position since August 2025.
