Taipei: The U.S. dollar rose against the Taiwan dollar Thursday, gaining NT$0.012 to close at NT$31.081.

According to Focus Taiwan, the turnover totaled US$1.139 billion during the trading session. The greenback opened at NT$31.065 and fluctuated between NT$31.055 and NT$31.103 before the close.
