Taipei: The U.S. dollar rose against the Taiwan dollar Monday, gaining NT$0.038 to close at NT$31.666. Turnover totaled US$2.709 billion during the trading session.

According to Focus Taiwan, the greenback opened at NT$31.650 and fluctuated between NT$31.600 and NT$31.732 before the close.
