Taipei: The U.S. dollar rose against the Taiwan dollar Thursday, gaining NT$0.084 to close at NT$31.835.

According to Focus Taiwan, turnover for the session amounted to US$3.018 billion. The greenback began trading at NT$31.760 and fluctuated between NT$31.720 and NT$31.872 before settling at the session's end.
