Taipei: The U.S. dollar fell against the Taiwan dollar Wednesday, shedding NT$0.005 to close at NT$31.440.

According to Focus Taiwan, turnover totaled US$1.749 billion during the trading session. The greenback opened at NT$31.430 and moved between NT$31.396 and NT$31.445 before the close.
