Taipei: The U.S. dollar rose sharply against the Taiwan dollar on Monday, gaining NT$0.146 to close at NT$32.438. This significant increase marked a notable shift in the currency market dynamics on the Taipei forex market.

According to Focus Taiwan, the turnover for the trading session totaled US$3.055 billion. The greenback opened at NT$32.260 and fluctuated between NT$32.210 and NT$32.490 before settling at the closing rate.
