Taipei: The U.S. dollar fell sharply against the Taiwan dollar Tuesday, shedding NT$0.236 to close at NT$32.229.

According to Focus Taiwan, turnover totaled US$1.593 billion during the trading session. The greenback opened at the day’s high of NT$32.440, and moved to a low of NT$32.204 before the close.
