SEOUL, - A four-meter deep sinkhole opened up in the middle of the financial district of Yeouido, slightly injuring one pedestrian nearby, officials said Wednesday.
The sinkhole formed at 11 a.m. at a traffic island linking the crosswalk in front of the IFC mall in Yeouido, western Seoul, according to firefighters and ward officials.
A man in his 30s was referred to a hospital with an abrasion on his leg, officials said.
The Yeongdeungpo Ward office plans to examine the cause of the sinkhole and repair the affected area.
