Ayal Komod Triumphs at Golden Melody Awards with Best Mandarin Male Singer Win

Taipei: Amis singer-songwriter Ayal Komod, also known as A-Yue Chang, has claimed the prestigious Best Mandarin Male Singer award at the 37th Golden Melody Awards. Ayal Komod emerged victorious among notable nominees including pop star Nickthereal, decorated singer-songwriter Crowd Lu, rapper Gummy B, and Chinese singer Jude Chiu.

According to Focus Taiwan, Ayal Komod expressed his gratitude during the acceptance speech, stating, "I've loved singing since I was a boy, and I've been fortunate to make it my profession while also performing my own songs. I'm truly happy to receive this award, although I feel a little undeserving because all of the other nominees are role models in Mandarin music."

The singer's latest album, "Go With The Flow," has been his first studio release in years. It reflects on personal experiences from the past decade and merges his signature rock style with themes of family, aging, and life. The album resonated widely, earning six nominations this year, including Best Mandarin Album and Song of the Year.

In a discussion with reporters in May, Ayal Komod credited the album's natural vibe to changes in his life over the past decade, which included a stronger focus on family and adopting a pace of life that suits him. His previous accolade at the Golden Melody Awards was in 2014, when he won Best Mandarin Album for "I Am Ayal Komod."
