Mr. Natcha Boonchaiinsawat, former Member of the House of Representatives (MP) Bangkok, Move Forward Party, as Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee to consider the study of causes and solutions to the problem, including the impact of importing black-chinned tilapia for research and development of species in the Kingdom of Thailand, said before the Subcommittee meeting, which invited relevant agencies to provide information that today, agencies that can assess the economic damage value have been invited, such as Kasetsart University and Thammasat University, which have already assessed 2 sub-districts: Phraek Nam Daeng Sub-district and Yi San Sub-district, Samut Songkhram Province, with the damage value at 100 million baht per year per sub-district. The assessment of the damage value and various impacts will be made to the government sector to be aware of the damage and solutions to the problem for the people. Mr. Natcha said that at this time we have not received any clarity from government agencies, but will receive clarity from the legislative process, which is expected to hold a press conference to summarize the work next week. Currently, we are rushing to summarize information to announce to the public and as a guideline to send information to relevant agencies, which the Prime Minister must take the lead in taking action against those involved.
