Prime Minister Sathit Thaveesin traveled to pay homage to sacred objects at Wat Chaithararam (Wat Chalong), Mueang District, Phuket Province, for good fortune during his inspection visit to Phuket Province. Upon arrival, the Prime Minister bowed to Phra Maha Phongsak Techawanno, the abbot of Wat Chalong, who was waiting to welcome him in front of the chapel, before leading the Prime Minister to pay homage to the principal Buddha image in the chapel and discuss the Dhamma. At the same time, he said that there were many foreign tourists at this temple and the tourist police came to help facilitate. Then, the abbot gave the replica of Luang Por Chaem of Wat Chalong to the Prime Minister as a souvenir. Then, the Prime Minister came down to light 6,000 firecrackers to offer to Luang Por Chaem and for good fortune. After lighting the firecrackers, the officers brought the tails of the firecrackers for the Prime Minister to see. The Prime Minister showed them to the media and said that there were numbers 87 and 829, which interested both Thai and foreign tourists who came to take pictures to use in their lucky draws. The Prime Minister greeted the Tourist Police on duty at Wat Chalong, as well as volunteers sent by each embassy to help facilitate foreign tourists from each country.
