CORONAVIRUS/Taiwan reports 7 new COVID-19 cases, all imported

Taiwan on Friday recorded seven new cases of COVID-19, all imported with no new domestic transmissions, and one death from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

The seven imported cases were from Sweden, the United States, Indonesia and India.

The new cases bring the total in Taiwan to 15,954, of which 14,345 are domestic infections reported since May 15, when the country first recorded more than 100 COVID-19 cases in a single day.

The one death reported Friday was a man in his 60s who passed away on Aug. 18, according to the CECC.

To date, 833 people have died of COVID-19 in Taiwan, including 821 since May 15.
