Taipei: Costco Taiwan said Monday it will raise its membership fees for the first time in 10 years, with the changes taking effect on April 1, 2026.
According to Focus Taiwan, the annual cost of Gold Star membership in Taiwan will increase from NT$1,350 (US$43) to NT$1,500. Business membership fees will rise from NT$1,150 to NT$1,500, and Business Add-on membership fees will go from NT$900 to NT$1,500. However, Executive membership fees will remain unchanged, with exclusive services and rebates of up to NT$30,000 being maintained. These rebates are noted as the highest in Asia and the second highest globally.
Each Business Add-on membership will continue to include one free household card, allowing entry for one cardholder and two accompanying persons. Costco Taiwan highlighted that it last adjusted its membership fees in 2016. Since then, the company has invested in logistics improvements and professional service centers, including hearing and optical centers, as well as gas stations.
The company plans to continue expanding its promotions during periods such as Singles' Day and Black Friday. Furthermore, it aims to strengthen the price advantage of its Kirkland Signature private label. Costco currently operates 14 warehouse stores in Taiwan, as stated on its website.
