Foxconn Reports Highest July Sales Ever on AI Boom

Taipei: Taiwan-based manufacturing giant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (Foxconn) on Tuesday reported its highest ever sales for July as the company benefited from strong demand for artificial intelligence servers.

According to Focus Taiwan, the iPhone assembler and AI server supplier stated it posted consolidated sales of NT$613.87 billion (US$20.50 billion) in July, marking a 7.25 percent increase from the previous year and a 13.63 percent rise from the previous month. The company's cloud and networking division experienced year-on-year growth in sales due to robust demand for AI and cloud services, although revenue from its computing division remained relatively unchanged from a year earlier.

Sales in Foxconn's electronics component and smart consumer electronics divisions saw a decline compared to the previous year, attributed to the impact of a stronger Taiwan dollar. Despite this, the company reported significant month-on-month sales growth in its smart consumer electronics, computing, and electronics component divisions.

The strength of the Taiwan dollar left sales by the cloud and networking division relatively flat, despite strong demand for AI-related gadgets. In the first seven months of this year, Hon Hai's consolidated sales increased by 17.62 percent from the previous year, reaching NT$4.05 trillion.

Hon Hai is scheduled to hold an investor conference on August 14 to discuss its second quarter results and provide guidance for the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Largan Precision Co., a supplier of smartphone camera lenses to Apple Inc., reported a monthly high for sales in July 2025, with consolidated sales of NT$5.41 billion. This represents a 31 percent increase from the previous month, although it is a slight decrease of 0.1 percent from the previous year. Largan attributed the sales growth to its clients' efforts to launch new products.

In July, Largan noted that its 20 mega-pixel and higher lenses, known for higher profit margins, accounted for 10-20 percent of total sales, while 10-20 mega-pixel lenses made up 60-70 percent, 8 mega-pixel lenses represented less than 10 percent, and other products comprised 10-20 percent. Largan's consolidated sales for the first seven months of this year rose by 14 percent from the previous year, totaling NT$31.67 billion.
