Kiwoom Securities Co. on Wednesday reported its second-quarter net income of 232.1 billion won (US$167.6 million), up 74 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that operating income for the April-June period rose 72.7 percent on-year to 312.3 billion won. Revenue increased 2.6 percent to 2.28 trillion won. The earnings exceeded market expectations.
