Taipei:President Lai Ching-te is set to deliver a National Day address on Saturday, with an emphasis on Taiwan's economic growth, global challenges, and its role in self-defense and international affairs.

According to Focus Taiwan, the address will concentrate on ensuring that all Taiwanese citizens benefit from the country's robust economic performance through upcoming social welfare measures. These measures are designed to take effect soon, amid record-breaking economic success.

President Lai will also discuss the evolving geopolitical challenges Taiwan faces, particularly in relation to the ongoing dialogue between the United States and China. His speech aims to position Taiwan as a key player in maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and the Indo-Pacific region, as well as highlight its status as a democratic partner contributing to the global community.
