TAIPEI: The Ministry of Culture has announced the launch of Malay and Thai versions of its website aimed at introducing Taiwan's cultural offerings to audiences in Malaysia and Thailand. This initiative is part of the broader New Southbound Policy aimed at enhancing Taiwan's cultural footprint across the region.
According to Focus Taiwan, the ministry's statement outlined that these new websites are designed to provide comprehensive information about its core policies and achievements related to cultural exchanges with Malaysia and Thailand. The sites prominently feature a column dedicated to the masters and luminaries of contemporary Taiwanese art and culture, as well as detailed information about the country's artistic venues.
These new additions expand the ministry's collection of foreign-language websites, which already include versions in English, Japanese, French, Spanish, and Bahasa Indonesia. This move is part of ongoing efforts since 2013 to promote Taiwan's cultural heritage globally.
The New Southbound Policy, launched in 2016, aims to foster stronger economic, cultural, and people-to-people ties between Taiwan and countries in the ASEAN region, as well as Australia, New Zealand, and South Asian nations, including India.
