Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), a Subholding Upstream of Pertamina, explored the potential of the upstream oil and gas industry through the 2023 International Association of Oil and Gas Produces (IOGP).The IOGP Summit was held in Nusa Dua, Bali, on October 16-19, 2023. The activity carried the theme of “Explore the Potential” that is based on the philosophy of exploring potential in various aspects to provide the best performance and maintain sustainable energy supplies.
“We are here to explore the crucial role of Geomatics in supporting operational activities in challenging environments, such as deep seas, remote areas, and mature fields. This is very significant to ensure the main focus challenge, namely the sustainability of energy supplies,” Director of Development and Production PHE Awang Lazuardi noted through a statement received in Jakarta, Friday.
Furthermore, Lazuardi explained that currently, the upstream oil and gas industry is faced with an energy trilemma, which is balancing energy security, affordability, and sustainability.
“A collaborative strategy is very important in the journey towards an era of energy transition in the Asia-Pacific Region. With a spirit of synergy, we can jointly answer the challenges of the energy trilemma to build a sustainable future,” Lazuardi remarked.
IOGP is a world-class organization with main focus on the upstream oil and gas industry and plays a role in raising the standards of oil and gas industry practices in various aspects, such as work safety, health, technical, and energy transition.
Meanwhile, oil and gas will continue to contribute greatly to the global economy until 2050, even in the midst of the energy transition era to low-emission energy.
PHE collaborated with IOGP to hold the IOGP 2023 Summit, which was the first activity carried out by presenting several IOGP Technical Committees that held regular meetings, such as the Safety Committee, Environment Committee, Geomatics Committee, and Decommission Committee.
