Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co. on Wednesday reported its second-quarter net income of 181.4 billion won (US$131.3 million), up 51.8 percent from a year earlier. Operating income for the April-June period was 208.1 billion won, up 1.5 percent from a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing. Revenue rose 16.2 percent to 2.58 trillion won. The earnings exceeded market expectations.
