Starlux to Launch Direct Flights Between Taiwan and Ontario, California

Taipei: Taiwan's Starlux Airlines has announced that it will commence new direct flights from Taoyuan International Airport to Ontario, California, starting June 2. The airline plans to utilize the Airbus A350 for this route, which will offer 306 seats across multiple classes, including first class, business class, premium economy, and economy.

According to Focus Taiwan, the initial schedule set by Starlux will include four weekly flights between Taoyuan and Ontario on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. The flights are scheduled to depart Taoyuan at 8:05 p.m. and arrive in California at 5:05 p.m. local time. The return flights will leave California at 11:10 p.m. local time and reach Taoyuan at 4:15 a.m.

Starlux CEO Glenn Chai highlighted the strategic advantages of Ontario International Airport, noting its proximity to Los Angeles International Airport, efficient customs processes, and convenient access to vibrant Asian communities. Chai expressed that this new route aims to attract passengers who frequently travel between the Greater Los Angeles area and Asia.

Starlux currently operates 10 weekly flights between Los Angeles International Airport and Taipei. The addition of the Ontario route from June 2 is expected to provide travelers with enhanced flexibility and convenience.

Ontario is located east of Los Angeles and offers easy access to popular attractions such as Disneyland, which is a 40-minute drive away, and Palm Springs, approximately an hour's drive. Compared to Los Angeles International Airport, driving from Ontario to Las Vegas can save travelers between 1.5 to 2 hours.
