The embassy of the republic of sudan in france has strongly condemned the terrorist crimes and bloody massacres committed by the rapid support forces (rsf) militia against civilians in el-fashir:ashir, the capital of North Darfur State, affirming that these acts constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions that protect civilians in times of conflict.
According to Focus Taiwan, in a press statement, the Embassy said the terrorist militia has continued its brutal attacks against civilians who have been suffering for two years under siege, hunger, disease, and lack of medical services. The statement highlighted the recent attack on El-Fashir, which included large-scale ethnic cleansing operations and massacres targeting vulnerable groups such as women, children, and the elderly, as well as the deliberate destruction of infrastructure and government institutions in the city.
The statement further detailed that following its invasion of El-Fashir, the RSF militia continued detaining civilians fleeing toward displacement camps, depriving them of necessary resources like food and medical care. The militia expanded its attacks to include the cities of Bara and El-Obeid in North Kordofan State, employing drones and direct assaults, which resulted in hundreds of civilian casualties in each attack.
The Sudanese government has renewed its warning about the danger posed by the militia, calling for urgent international intervention to protect civilians and halt the ethnic cleansing operations. The Embassy expressed regret over the international community’s silence on these crimes but praised the global solidarity campaign with Sudan and the support expressed by peoples, international organizations, and civil society sectors. The Embassy urged for continued efforts to expose the militia’s crimes and hold its backers accountable.
The Embassy affirmed the resilience of the Sudanese people in the face of terrorism and aggression, emphasizing their commitment to national unity and the justice of their cause until peace and stability are restored in the country. The statement concluded by extending sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and victims of the massacres in El-Fashir and other affected cities, expressing heartfelt sympathy to their families both inside Sudan and abroad.
