Taipei:This year's Taiwan International Travel Fair (ITF), scheduled for November 6-9 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, will focus on themed itineraries as travelers increasingly seek unique experiences over traditional destinations.
According to Focus Taiwan, the event, organized by the Taiwan Visitors Association, will feature exhibitors from 123 countries and cities, showcasing products that cater to the growing demand for experience-based travel. Offerings will include Antarctic expeditions, Arctic aurora tours, scenic rail journeys, cruises, and seasonal trips such as New Year's Eve fireworks, snow activities, and Lunar New Year events.
Among the highlighted packages, Lion Travel is set to offer a 20-day Antarctic Peninsula voyage aboard a luxury expedition cruise ship in 2027. This itinerary promises a crossing of the Drake Passage and guided landings on the ice, providing travelers with close-up views of penguins and glaciers. Additionally, South East Travel Service Co. will present "Peace Boat" world cruises, featuring a 104-day journey from Keelung in 2027 to destinations like Africa and Alaska, and a 106-day trip from Kaohsiung in 2028, including the Icelandic aurora and Peru's Machu Picchu.
Travel agencies and hotel operators plan to launch special promotions during the event. AsiaYo, an accommodation and travel booking platform, will highlight global land and sea travel products, including cruises, ski trips, sports-themed packages, day tours, and eSIM services. Unitravel Services Co. has already initiated an online promotion offering "buy one, get one free" airfare deals, free gratuities, and special flat-rate packages.
Hotels such as Grand Hi-Lai Hotel will offer accommodation promotions online and at the exhibition, joined by Cosmos Hotel Group and other chains in providing discounted accommodation packages.
