VietJet Air Launches New Tainan-Hanoi Route

Tainan:Vietnamese budget airline VietJet Air has introduced a new flight route connecting Tainan and Hanoi, marking it as the third international route operating from the southern Taiwan airport.

According to Focus Taiwan, Tainan Deputy Mayor Yeh Tse-shan welcomed passengers on the inaugural flight from Hanoi. It was noted that all 230 seats on the outbound flight were fully booked.

The new route, serviced by an Airbus 321, will operate four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flights will leave Hanoi at 750 a.m., arriving in Tainan at 1110 a.m. The return journey will depart Tainan at 1210 p.m., landing in Hanoi at 2 p.m.

Deputy Mayor Yeh expressed hopes that this new route would attract more tourists from Southeast Asia to Tainan and provide a convenient travel option for local leisure and business travelers heading to Vietnam. The Tainan-Hanoi service joins two other international routes from Tainan Airport, Tainan-Okinawa and Tainan-Kumamoto, which are operated by Tigerair Taiwan.
