London: Taiwan's men's table tennis team secured a spot in the semifinals of the 2026 ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals in London after a dramatic 3-2 victory over Sweden. The match, held at OVO Arena Wembley, saw two crucial singles victories from Lin Yun-ju, Taiwan's top-ranked player. According to Focus Taiwan, Lin Yun-ju, who is currently ranked world No. 7 and known as the "Silent Assassin," played a pivotal role in the victory. He commenced the tie with a win against world No. 2 Truls Möregård and later sealed the win for Taiwan with a straight-games victory over Anton Källberg in the deciding fifth match. This triumph ensures Taiwan at least a bronze medal and marks the team's second consecutive podium finish at the prestigious biennial tournament. Taiwan's team previously claaimed a bronze medal in the 2024 edition of the tournament, with Lin Yun-ju partnering with seasoned player Chuang Chih-yuan and emerging talent Kao Cheng-jui, among others.
