Taiwan Partners with Czech Salvation Army to Aid Displaced Ukrainian Youth

Prague: Taiwan on Thursday signed an agreement with the Salvation Army of the Czech Republic to support a project helping young Ukrainian refugees rebuild their lives. The donation pledge to Salvation Army's "The Nest" project was inked by Taiwan's top envoy to the Czech Republic, Remus Chen, and Jan Desensk½, director of the Czech Salvation Army's Central Bohemian Region.

According to Focus Taiwan, Kl¡ra ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬¦ im¡ckov¡ Laurenckov¡, the Czech government commissioner for human rights, who witnessed the signing ceremony, stated that the Nest project aims to create a safe space for Ukrainian youths seeking refuge in the Czech Republic. Laurenckov¡ praised the Nest project for its role in highlighting humanitarian social responsibility and its ability to bridge international partners.

At the ceremony, Chen emphasized that the event was symbolic of Taiwan and the Czech Republic's collaboration in supporting Ukraine and providing care to the underprivileged. Taiwan's donations will be allocated towards supporting community activities, housing, and providing counseling, which will help underage Ukrainian refugees rebuild hope and a sense of belonging.

Chen further mentioned that Taiwan has been providing humanitarian support to Ukrainian refugees through Czech philanthropic organizations such as the Czech Red Cross and People in Need. These collaborations have enabled Taiwan to assist with rescue and reconstruction efforts. "Taiwan will firmly stand with Ukraine," Chen affirmed during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Desensk½ expressed gratitude for the attention being directed towards displaced Ukrainian youths in the Czech Republic. He noted that the Salvation Army of the Czech Republic is pleased to offer financial and occupational support to these underprivileged youths.
