Taiwan Secures 25 Gold Medals at World Sport Stacking Championships

Taipei: Taiwan bagged a total of 25 gold medals in this year's World Sport Stacking Championships held in Switzerland, ranking third in the overall medal haul among the 23 participating nations.

According to Focus Taiwan, the tournament, which welcomed 411 competitors, was organized by the World Sport Stacking Association from April 25-27. Taiwan sent 16 participants to the Swiss event and came away with 25 gold, 15 silver, and 12 bronze medals, finishing third overall behind Germany and Malaysia, who placed first and second, respectively.

A 15-year-old student from New Taipei's Yuteh Private International School alone swept six gold medals, of which three were won in the girls' individual 3-3-3, 3-6-3, and cup cycle stacking events while three others were in the group competitions. Besides her, 8-year-old elementary student Lin Shih-chi also finished strong with three gold medals in the girls' individual events.

Together with her partner Fan Jung-jung, Lin also clinched a gold medal in the doubles cycle event. The 16 competitors from Taiwan also included university students, with Taiwan Dragon also bagging gold in the 3-6-3 team stacking cup event.
