The French ambassador to South Korea visited the production line of Renault Korea in Busan last week as it prepares to unveil a new hybrid model this year, the company said Sunday.
Ambassador Philippe Bertoux visited the production line in the southeastern port city Friday, according to Renault Korea, the South Korean unit of the France-based Renault Group.
The visit came ahead of the company’s plan to launch a new hybrid SUV in the second half of 2024 under the Aurora project.
The ambassador said the visit has heightened his expectations for the project, emphasizing the key role that the company plays in bridging South Korea and France.
