Opposition leader Lee Jae-myung will leave hospital Wednesday, eight days after he was stabbed in the neck in a knife attack and underwent surgery, a party official said. Lee, chairman of the main opposition Democratic Party (DP), has since recovered enough to leave Seoul National University Hospital, said Kwon Hyuk-ki, a DP official. "Lee will return home and continue his treatment there for the time being," Kwon said. Lee was stabbed in the neck by a knife-wielding man in his 60s posing as an autograph-seeker during his visit to the southeastern port city of Busan on Jan. 2. Lee was airlifted to Seoul and underwent surgery for a laceration in a major vein in his neck. The assailant was arrested at the scene and an investigation is under way to determine the motive of the crime. Source: Yonhap News Agency
