Pattani: Water levels in several areas of Pattani Province remain stable despite a decrease in many regions, as rising sea levels continue to influence the situation. This morning, in Nong Chik District, water levels have significantly receded compared to two days ago. Roads that were previously submerged, such as the one near the Nong Chik District Office, are now almost clear, allowing for easier passage of vehicles. The situation in Nong Chik District has improved over the past 2-3 days, and conditions are expected to gradually get better if there is no further rainfall. According to Thai News Agency, in the Pattani city area, the water level has remained stable, neither rising nor falling, although some roads are still underwater. The news team traveled from CS Pattani Hotel towards Nong Chik District and reported that both sides of the road remained submerged but passable with caution. The persistent flooding in parts of Pattani city is attributed to the influence of seawater, which hinders drainage eve n in the absence of rain. Pattani Governor Patima indicated that the flooding is expected to continue until around December 4th. The release of some water from Bangla Dam might help stabilize the situation temporarily. Last night, a convoy of soldiers from Nong Chik District and Mr. Ple Nakorn arrived with jet skis to assist stranded victims in the Nong Chik area. Despite initial discussions about the timing of the rescue, the victims requested assistance the following morning. The Nong Chik District Chief coordinated with Mr. Ple Nakorn's team to deploy jet skis, as the fast-flowing water made it unsafe for flat-bottomed and regular boats. Efforts in Nong Chik District have been ongoing to support those affected by the flood, although challenges persist in several areas due to difficult conditions.
