Seoul: A delegation of inventors from Taiwan won a total of 108 medals at the annual Seoul International Invention Fair, which ran from Nov. 27-30. According to Focus Taiwan, the 220-strong Taiwanese delegation, led by the Taiwan Invention Association (TIA), secured 41 gold, 42 silver, and 25 bronze medals at the event in South Korea. This remarkable achievement was made amidst fierce competition with over 500 entries from 32 countries, marking a record-breaking accomplishment for Taiwan. TIA chairperson Chang Chia-chu mentioned that Taiwan has consistently been one of the top two largest delegations at the annual invention event in recent years. This year, Taiwan submitted a total of 112 inventions, showcasing the country's innovative spirit and dedication to technological advancement. Among the inventors, several teams gained significant recognition, including a student group from New Taipei's Linkou Junior High and Jiabao Elementary schools. This team notably won one gold, one silver, and one bronze med al for their inventive solution to the low water pressure flushing issue prevalent in many Taiwanese toilets. Their success highlights the promising talent and creativity emerging from Taiwan's younger generation of inventors.
