Taipei: Taiwan’s No. 3 nuclear power plant has the potential to be restarted in 2027 as national energy strategies evolve.

According to Focus Taiwan, Taipower, the state-owned electric power utility, is preparing to submit a comprehensive plan outlining the necessary steps and timelines for the possible reactivation of the facility.

Nuclear energy has been a critical component of Taiwan’s energy mix, and discussions regarding the future of its nuclear facilities have been ongoing. The No. 3 nuclear power plant, located in the southern part of the island, has been a focal point in Taiwan’s energy discourse.
